I’M SO CONFUSED. Has anyone else noticed those annoying billboards around town by Washington Mutual, proclaiming “Whoo Hoo”? Whoo? Who? What?

It’s their new marketing compaign,

The fully integrated Whoo hoo!(TM) campaign – which spans TV, in-store, direct, print, out-of-home, radio and online communications, and a parallel internal campaign – conveys the emotional appeal of the unique WaMu brand. Everytime I see one of these ads, I automatically say “who” as in “who are you,” and saying “who hoo” doesn’t sound right. It’s not WHO, it’s WOO. So when something good happens or I’m singing that Song 2 song by Blur, I go WOOOOO-HOO.

Am I going crazy? No, even Google is like WTF dude, you spelled it wrong.

Like, if you’re going to have billboards and tv spots and print ads everywhere in a national campaign, wouldn’t you try to spell the slogan right? Or have I been spelling it wrong this whole time?
